Judy C Hu, O.D.
Dr. Judy Hu graduated from the University of Rochester with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of California, Berkeley School of Optometry. In 2018, she completed a residency in ocular disease at the Baltimore Veterans Affairs Medical Center, where her advanced training emphasized glaucoma diagnosis and management.
Before joining The Glaucoma Center in 2019, Dr. Hu practiced in a multispecialty setting, gaining further experience in glaucoma care. Her philosophy centers on delivering personalized attention and building long-term, trusted relationships with her patients. She is known for her compassionate approach and commitment to advancing glaucoma treatment.
Dr. Hu is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and frequently educates fellow optometrists on glaucoma therapy and new treatment options. She has also served on multiple pharmaceutical advisory boards for new glaucoma drugs.
An active leader in the profession, Dr. Hu is a member of the national Optometric Glaucoma Society and the Maryland Optometric Association (MOA), where she was recognized as Young Optometrist of the Year in 2021 and currently serves as President of MOA's Anne Arundel County Society.
Outside of her professional work, Dr. Hu enjoys being active, traveling, and spending time with her rescue dog, Buddy.
