Alanna E. James, M.D.

Dr. James was raised in south Texas and obtained a Bachelor's of Science in Biochemistry from Andrews University in Michigan. She attended medical school at Loma Linda University School of Medicine and completed her internship in Internal Medicine and residency in Ophthalmology there as well. Towards the end of her residency, she gained a strong interest in the medical and surgical management of glaucoma which led her to pursue and complete a glaucoma fellowship at the University of Southern California.

As glaucoma is a condition that heavily affects minority communities, Dr. James aims to bring her expertise to serve the people of Prince George's County. She has a strong interest in and experience performing complex cataract surgeries and minimally invasive glaucoma procedures in addition to more traditional glaucoma surgeries.

When Dr. James is outside of the office, she enjoys trying new restaurants, playing racquetball, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
